Here’s a little collection of some records we’ve been listening to the last few weeks.
Joyce Manor "I Used To Go To This Bar"

Joyce Manor has always been a hit-or-miss band for me. Those first three recordswere foundational early listens in the early 2010s; but 2016's Cody was where I checked out. No resentment, there was just a disconnect from where my tastes were at the time.
Fast forward to the rollout for their seventh LP, I Used To Go To This Bar. When “All My Friends Are So Depressed” dropped as a promo single, something clicked again.
The full record landed on January 30th and it’s been in near constant rotation for me since. At a short 19 minutes, it’s Joyce Manor doing what they do best. Don’t sleep on this one.
The Format "Boycott Heaven"

Back after nearly a 20-year break, The Format have just released their newest album, Boycott Heaven, and I’m loving it. It’s catchy and packed with hooks that really showcase Nate Ruess’ vocal abilities. The first single (lol), "Holy Roller", feels fresh while still capturing that classic Format vibe. Really looking forward to catching them on this current tour.
The Movielife “Cities In A Search of Heart”

The forgotten The Movielife album. Maybe I’m wrong, but I feel like no one talks about this record at all, and it’s so good. Fourteen years after their breakthrough, 40 Hour Train Back to Penn, these guys still have it. Released in 2017, I highly suggest picking up a copy and giving it a listen.
Junior Battles "Idle Ages"

This band seems to have been lost to time. But man, the chokehold this album had on me in 2011. Junior Battles is (was?) a pop-punk band out of Ontario, Canada, and I've been revisiting them a lot lately. The harmonies and hooks are so sweet you may gain weight. Do yourself the biggest favor and check this one out.
